The serv-- , ice was conducted by Bishdp Ileber C. Blood, bishop of the ward. The opening prayer was offered by President E. P. Ellison of Layton, and the speakers were Bishop Cook and Elder Amos Cook of Syracuse; James Wilcox, the ward teacher of the family, and Bishop James G. Wood of Clearfield; President Francis N. Nalder'of Syracuse, and Bishop Ileber C. Blood. The bendeietion was pronounced by Bishop Walter Barton of Bountiful. The speakers had known the deceased since childhood and were qualified to testify as to the sterling worth and the high character of the departed. They had known her as a neighbor, friend, Christian, wife and mother, and recited those virtues as they had observed them in her daily life. President Nalder in the course of his remarks told the large congregation that he had noted the fact that at Least 50 per cent of those present were blood relatives of the deceased, a most remarkable occurrence, and one wich the relatives thcjjeceased should be Augustus Hanks. The interment was in Kaysville cemeterj where a large concource of relatives and neighbors followed the remains. The grave was dedicated by Elder Barlow of Bountiful. The deceased was the daugnter of President Christopher and Isabelle Layton and was born in Kaysville on January 24, 1862.
