Phillips was enroute to a mountain home site to dispose of the dynamite when the explosion occurred in Parle Hill, a fashionable residence district of Denver. Windows were broken and pictures and dishes shaken to floors of houses for a mile by the force of the explosion. Parts of the car and of Phil-l.body were found 300 yards away. The dynamite had crystallized and was very dangerous, Phillips had told his mother, advising her he was going to remove it before some thing happened.
