Believe it or not, there is Pigeon Cove. Mass., an attra'-tlcozy and solid bungalow built aj in- side and out, furniture and wa'is . of paper. It all came about ilke this. One Monday morning in 1922, Elis F Btenman probably wondering What d Hearth to do with the Sunday papers began preparing old Boston newspapers for the construction Of his unique residence Hot long afterward there rose on a hill a Pigeon Cove the edifice now proudly called "Paper House one of the worlds most remarkable buildings. With the exception of the floors, , rodf and uprights the entire nouse is constructed of cid newspapeis , 60,000 copies of them. These news- papers were Patiently built up into layers, pasted, folded and placed under pressure of about two tons. - A special preparation was used for the pasting, and the printing is still preserved and may be p. airily seen everywhere. The walls consist of 215 thicknesses, the outside only having ' three coats of varnish. The fur niture within the house, too. is , made of old newspapers which have been ingeniously rolled up to form Wicker-lik- e material. A desk in 4 corner is made up en- of accounts of Colonel tirely Lindberghs flight. Possibly war? of drafts, Mr. Stentnah has made practically no use of political 'speeches, but a kitchen Cabinet is made of household hints and cooking recipes. The Paper House was built according to Mr Stenman, merely as an experiment, and not as a measure of against the engulfing tide of the Boston Sunday papers. The experiment has proved successful both in strength and stability. It suggests interesting possibilities.
