Show Uftalh) aiuito two Uromni Each year the Utah Auto Dealers Association names new members to its Hall of Fame, and elects a new board of directors. This year the Association named Don B. Showalter of Vernal to the Hall of Fame and David Labrum of Roosevelt as its new president. Don B. Showalter was bom Oct 4, 1913 in Vernal. He married Donna McCullough on Nov. 28, 1940 in Salt Lake City. He passed away Dec. 30, 1999 at the age of dealers Showalter was president of Showalter Ford and was actively involved in the dealership from the later 1930s to the mid 1990s when health considerations kept him home. Showalter was named a Time magazine Quality Dealer Award winner in 1975. He also was an active member of the Utah Ihioinioir tilhie Uoimtalh Basnim and chairman of the industrial promotion committee. He served as past president and director of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and served as a state director. He as a member of the Jaycees' fund raising campaign for a new hospital in the early 1940s. He was named "Kiwanian of the Year" in 1954 and was a charter member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Vcmal. He served as a director, was chairman of its committees on youth service and public affairs and served on a committee to provide eyeglasses for the underprivileged. He also served on the Board of State Lands and on the state Fire Prevention Board. He also served aS chairman of the Board of Directors of the Automotive Club of Utah and as a director prior to that time. Automobile Dealers Association serving in many leadership positions. Showalter was also an active member of the National Auto Dealers Association. He was district vice chairman of the Ford Dealer Council and former zone chairman of the council. He was also the former secretary of the Ford Dealer and Association Advertising received the Ford Distinguished Service Award on numerous occasions. Showalter graduated from Uintah High School in 1932 and attended Brigham Young University, majoring in business administration. He was active in community affairs. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, receiving the Distinguished Service Award in 1974 and served as chairman of the Upper Colorado Project committee 86. He is president of the Ford, Mercury, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep franchise. L & L Motor Co., Inc. in Roosevelt, where he is a partner with his brothDennis er Bill and bother-in-laJenkins. The franchise has been in the Labrum family for more than 60 years. Labrum is an active member of his community. He has served for more than 12 years in the Roosevelt boys baseball program and for eight years on the Duchesne County School Board, two of which he served as school board president. He has also served on Fords Dealer Council and as a UADA chapter president. Don B. Showalter was recently named to the Utah Auto Dealers Associations Hall of Fame.
