The students entered the building with bright curious eyes and cheeks so rosy and red and a big broad smile across their laces. Here and there we heard a chterlul Everyone was walking hello, good morning', and howdy. hastily to and from lockers to class rooms; busy but very happy. School is a great place to make use o( one's cheerfulness and spread the joy and good will to each and everyone. One is a pattern of his environment therefore we are proud to sa f we are from Lincoln. Frazier James Sends Compliments Our program at Lincoln was delightful because of the attention and splendid conduct ot the student body and we apMr. Fred C. Graham of the Graham preciate it very much. Music and Lyceum Bureau of Salt Lake City brings this message dance team who danced for us to us, from the Frazier-Jame- s of late. We realize that the courtesy of giving attention to our entertainers raises the respect people have tor us and we are truly thankful for the notice people are taking of it. Have You A Measuring Stick? Day by Day If not at any other time, we should at this season of the year build a self measuring stick, a device where by we can take stock of ourselves. I call to mind one good . man in charge of a group ot young men and women, who in rendering his counsel would say, Hang your skin on a rail fence, step back a tew paces, and see how many flaws you can see in your skin. Would not this' be worth while, if after we find those flaws, we would use every available opportunity to mend and better ourselves Jn that rcoyoCu We use 95 per Carnegie says, cent of our time thinking' about ourselves." If this Is true of yoh and me, lets strive to use a small part of this time constructively repairing the sighted flaws In our skin, learning to understand and appreciate the viewpoint of the other fellow, and practice telling about the good traits ot our friend, not his faults. Around here some citizens enrolled in our school show lack of the use ot a self made measuring stick. I have in mind a boy, who continually ahouts iouu in the halla, sings and creates all manner ot distrubance about his locker. I am sure it he would step back and get a view of himself and see how he Infringes upon the rights ot others, he would alter his course greatly. Emerson claimed, Use what language you will, you can never say anything but what you are. With this thought in mind may I ask you to take stock of ones-ael- f. How do you measure? Have you a set of standards to go byr (read Behave Yourself by Allen and Brigg Its In the library.) In conclusion may I say, While you are taking stock of yourself and finding how to puperly respect those about you remember the old Adage. If you want to gather honey dont kick over the bee hire. Tiger ettes LARSON Seasons Greetings From Seminary 7 Iff SffipiNEsrEi X 7 JJEtU YEAH ;l lUfl ixf&XA A . . It seems as though our tigers have a bigger job 'other than picking fly specks out of pepper for they are trying to master a new style of basketoau which they hope will keep the Tabulator for Lincoln on the job. Last wet. they got some real good basketball practice when they gave Jordan their return match on the hardwoods. The boys bad the ball most of the time but they just couldn't push that ball through the Iron ring. We should feel proud of out fighting Sons of Lincoln, for no matter whether they are on top or on bottom (as far as the score is concerned) they keep on fighting their hardest up to the last second of the game. We have one thing to be proud of, for iliere are no quitters In Lincoln this year. The boys have all expressed their willingness to cooperate with their new head coach, and they have even to sacrifice their time to come out and practice each day during the holidays so that they can deyelop a winning team for Lincoln this year. The boys have surely been up against It this year, for, traditionally, Lincoln is not noted for basketball supremacy and they have bad to take many hard bumps and unfriendly criticism from people that generally don't know anything about the game or what they are talking about. So we should, as a student body, get behind the boys, who are, after all, doing their best, and cheer them on Instead of booing them when they make a mistake. The boys put in a lot of their time each night after school to try and do their best to develop a winning team for Lincoln, ao lets all support them In what they do bo that when the season really starts they can go places and do things. They put higher Ideals to most of the girls. I am sure with the advisors and the capable officers the girls organization will really be a great success this year. It seems that some students do not understand what order in assemblies means Therefore I suppose It will bave to be put In a straight forward manner such as We must have order or no assemblies. To those who need it If you do not care for tbe number, kindly keep quiet so others may enjoy it.
