Officers that were elected for the coming year are: Joe Merchant, president; James Stewart, vice-preside- nt; Bill Llewelyn, sec- retary and treasurer, and Joe players agent Elmer Stultz, Ye-lone- k, Tommy Mahon and Bill Llewelyn are on the finance committee. The league will have six teams. Five from East Carbon and one from Wellington. All boys, from Columbia, Sunnyside and Dragerton, who are interested in Pony League baseball are asked to attend a meeting at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 3rd, in the the Dragerton school. Hansen, 336 Columbia Drive, Dragerton, have completed their basic military training Lackland Air Force Gateway to the Air course at Base, the Force. - Lackland, situated near San Antonio, is the site of Air Force basic military training for men and women, headquarters of the Human Resource Research Center, and home of the USAF Officer Military School. Their basic military training is preparing them for entrance into Air Force technical training and for assignment in specialized work. The course includes a scientific evaluation of their aptitude and inclination for following a particular vocation and career. Knights of Pythias The Knights of Pythias have announced to all high schools, their ninth annual public speaking con- test for 1954, it has been announced by Ernest Shaffer, Salt Lake City, publicity director. The contest is open to all boys and girls in the United States,iCanada, Hawaii and Alaska who are regularly enrolled students in high schools or parochial or preparatory schools of high school rank. The subject to be discussed by all contestants is Courteous Motor Manners and How to Promote Them. The contest in this area will be conducted with the assistance of the Pythian Sister lodges of Price, Helper and Dragerton.
