You Are American And you are aware that jtwo great American institutions are one on the hoin perspective rizon the other passed zenith. I refer to the opening of school and the closing of the baseball season. School has to do mostly with boys and girls and mothers and fathers. Also there are a few thousand dogs that leave the family bailiwick and follow John and Mary to school. There they can be found inside the buildings, at the doors and across the lawns. And then there are the lambs that follow Mary. All the other fringes and frills of the school year will be found in season. The baseball period is shorter somewhat and dovetails into the opening and closing of the school year. This institution has to do directly with several thousand ball players, managers and financial backers. Indirectly it affects most Americans. Free public schools and competitive baseball.
