Taxcuts being debated In Washington Will mean substantial savings for every family in East Carbon county if adopted, the Pacific Central Research Council, National Association of Manufacturers, said tfoday. According to a new tax study just released by the, council, savings for a typical with an income of family $3,000 a year could amount to as s much as $48, or more than of a weeks income. For a local. family with a 5,000 income, it reports, the saving could be $120, or considerably more than a full weeks earnings. Few of us realize how much each of us personally has at stake in the tax debates going on in Congress, the report declares. If Congress cuts spending and acts favorably on pending tax legislation, it will mean money in everyones pocketbook. Estimates of total savings possible to East Carbon county taxpayers are based by the council on the assumption that four major federal tax classifications will be cut or abolished within the next ten months unless Congress votes to repeal existing legislation. The four include the excess profits tax, individual income tax, corporation income tax and certain excise taxes, all due to be ended or reduced at specific dates between June 30 of this year and April 1, 1954.
