S. Bureau of Mines reports. In Carbon county, through September of this year, nine fatalities' had been recorded as compared to only live through the same period last year. Since September of this year, three fatalities have been recorded bringing the total to date to 13 as compared to only seven for the entire year of 1950. Injuies at bituminous, mines caused the death of 38 men in September. In the same month 10 anthracite miners were killed. One-ha- lf of all the September fatalities were caused by falls of roof or face taking a toll of 24 lives. Haulage accidents resulted in 11 fatalities. Electricity caused two fatalities, machinery, one fatality, and other underground causes resulted in two deaths. In addition, one man was killed in a shaft accident, three were killed at stripping operations and surface accidents claimed four lives.
