December 28, ELEVEN JUVENILE Dragerton Elementary GENEVA VARIETY TO Reteives National Citation CLOSE SATURDAY P-T- DELINQUENTS TO GO BEFORE COURT The East Carbon law enforcement officers stated that eleven juveniles from the local area have been referred, to the, juvenile court for breaking windows in the school house, breaking into and entering the school house, damage to private property and for. petty thievery. The East Carbon officers stated that juveniles- will be turned over to the courts in order that the local problem can be better dealt with. The juvenile problem 'appears to have grown Worse and it is the feeling that a stronger policy in dealing with the offenders may help to improve this situation. Firearms, including B. B. guns, that are fired within the limits' of the four towns of East Carbon will be confiscated and the offender turned over to the proper authorities. Parents are being asked to cooperate with the officers in helping to curb the malicious juvenile problem that is now growing in East Carbon. Last Saturday morning the Dragerton theatre was broken into with most of the damage being done to the windows and fixtures in the building. It appeared to be the work of juveniles. - A A The Dragerton Elementary held its third successful meeting on Monday night, December 11th. There was an attendance of almost 100 parents and teachers, Mr. Ned Hansen opened the meeting with prayer. Then an interesting program was presented by Mrs. Leslie Lindsey, program chairman. Students from the three fifth gradessang Christmas carols under the tutorship of Mrs. Justensen, Mr. Pierce and Mrs. Hanley. VERNER STODDARD purchases: DRAGERTON TRIBUNE Walter Mathesius, president of Geneva Steel company, subsidiary of United States Steel, today announced that additional facilities will promptly be installed at the Geneva steel plant to Increase its annual steel producing capacity from 1,400,000 to 1,560,000 net tons. These new facilities will enable Geneva bettefr to meet the need for additional steel production for national defense and essential civilian purposes. Mr. Mathesius stated that the principal additional facilities to be provided are one open hearth steel furnace with auxiliaries, two overhead travelling cranes, one two-ho- le soaking pit furnace, extensions, necessary building and additional material storage facilities.
