Childrens races, softball games, speeches and dancing were all on the program. Honored guests were Doctor Colombo of Dragerton and John Krnc, who is the delegate to the national SNBS convention being held in Detroit, Michigan, Frank Mezek, Sr. lodge president and Frank Poglajen, Jr. lodge secre- tary. A dutch lunch was served by the women of the lodge with Rose Zupon in charge. ", N Work Resumed at Horse Canyon Pending Settlement Trinity church vacation will open its doors August 21 at the Clinic building in Dragerton with a program for all the children from kindergarten through the sixth grade. The school will be in session from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon each week day, under the supervision of Rev. Robert J. Nicholas of the Episcopal church, and a staff of skilled teachers. The courses are put out by the Intermountain Council of Religious Education and are designed to give the basic information common to all Christian faiths. The program will consist of study about Gods world and understanding the home life of the early Hebrews. Each' of the classes will be engaged In handwork projects which will help to bring out the meaning of what the class is studying. The program will be rounded out with a generous portion of singing, games and other, recreational activities. All children are! invited to attend. The school well-round- ed Party on Birthday Mrs. Vemer Stoddard was honored on her birthday anniversary at her home in Dragerton last week by the Teachers Birthday club. All children participating will receive cash awards. Free swimming will be available in the afternoon. All types of races and athletic contests will be held. For the spectators a softball game with two ladies teams will be held at the Price softball field. The Kaiser local will take charge of this affair. If these places are not obtained there will be a grave shortage of elementary teachers for some grades. One instructor has retired, one placed at Sunnyside and three others have secured positions elsewhere. This leaves five positions to be. filled. The teachers here are very competent and all either have or are working for degrees that will soon be obtained and by helping to complete the circle of teachers by the placing of .these new teachers, we, the public, will have helped to further the education of our children.
