B. Confer, of the United States Bureau of Mines, has been conducting these classes with the assistance of the safety engineers at the various coal camps in the county. George B. Jackson, general superintendent of the Independent Coal and Coke company at Kenilworth, is general chairman of the banquet and is busy preparing a program of special interest for the occasion. As a special guest and principal speaker, Mr; Jack-so- n expects J. J. Forbes of Washington, D. C., to be present. Mr. Forbes is chief of the health and safety division of the Bureau of Mines. E. H.
