Mr. Reed, who kept notes of his first trip down the Colorado, colorfully outlined each days run through the rapids of the river. He told of the dangerous conditions existing along the river as well as describing the beauties of the river gorges. Since his first trip, Mr. Reed made many trips down the Colorado including three from Green River, Wyoming, through the Grand Canyon on to Lake Meade.
