Anew angle has been pushed into the coal stove controversy at Dragerton, where the members of U. M. W. of A. are circulating petitions asking that coal stoves replace all oil furnaces. The controversy, extending the past month, was first brought to a decision, when an agreement was signed between the United Mine Workers and the company, which requested the company to install coal stoves in any home for which a request was made. Upon this issue a little over 100 changes were requested, most of which were made by the company, and in some instances the women have refused to allow the coal heater to be set up, even though a request had been made. Then a meeting of the union officials on February 26, requested that a petition be circulated among all members of Local No. 8003, which is the Horse Canyon local, requesting that coal stoves replace all oil burning equipment at Dragerton. Now come the fit) use wives with plea for their rights In an open letter, which they have requested to be printed in jhis lsue of The Dragerton Tribune, and by fifty-sevsigned already We really feel women, states that this is taking liberties with our way of thinking and living And continuing, the letter says, Most of our husbands are miners and good union men, so rather than embarrass them with this problem, wre have decided to take this opportunity of saying that we want all of our home conveni ences left as they aie, and we WltL FIGHT to keep them that way. i ' i ! en tv f.
