S. 2nd-3r- d Explorers Play in Provo Hoop Tourney Saturday in the morning Birthday With Observance MAE HALL Correspondent 878-237- . 1 The Enterprise 1st and 2nd wards celebrated the Relief Societys birthday on Friday March 18th with a lovely program. Lots of good food and dancing. The first part of the dance the Enterprise Sting Band played, then the Country Cousins furnished the music for the rest of the evening. These cousins are Eldon Hunt, son of Wes and Jane Hunt and Dorsey son of Jim and Jeanette Staheli. Those boys in their early teens are good music makers to dance by. It was a nice evening and the large crowd present enjoyed every minute of it. The program was Portraits Womanhood. of number of our former residents came home for the occasion and enjoyed the evening. Another of our older citizens departed this life last Tuesday evening at the Dixie Medical Center. She was Luella Elliker Bagshaw, wife of Ray Bagshaw. These good people have been residents of A our community for a long time. Even though Luella has been in poor helath for many years, she always could laugh and made the best of her condition. This reporter will miss her as I visited with them often. Luella was born in Cedar City to John and Pheby Ann Root Elliker Spetember 21, 1903. They were married August 15, 1922, and sealed in the St. George Temple March 7, 1956. She is survived by her husband Ray, one son, Robert Lewis Bagshaw of Las Vegas, and by a daughter, LuRae Haig of Hudson, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. One brother, Lewis Ellikder of Panaca, Nevada. Luellas and Lewis were twins and the youngest of a family of ten children. Relatives attending the funeral services held here Friday March 25th were her brother Lewis Elliker and his wife Rosella and their sons, Dennis and Shirl and daughter Mary Gillins and her husband. The son and Bagshaws daughterin-law- , Robert and Myrna and family, Dale, Steven, and Donavan and Carol. Mr. and Mrs. Rick (Marilee Bagshaw) Burton and children Christy and Rick Jr. a sister to Ray, Mrs. Ada laid Benmes. Mark and Leona Crawford Balen and son Mark Jr. and daughter Balen Sandburg. Gayle John George Elliker, Crawford, Ida Crawford Wade and daughter Patrica and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stewart and daughter, Linda, Evan and Francis Pearl Terry Earl, Ada Cripps Butcher Neilson. and Lola Cripps Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pacheco and family were here over the weekend visiting with Connies parents, Mr. and Mrs. Athna Terry and family. Speakers in the 1st Ward Church services Sunday were Mary and Bob Banks and their recently returned missionary, Elder Dennis Banks. Relatives who came from out of town were Bobs father, Mr. Randall Banks of Minnersville, their brother and sister, Richard and LaPreal sister-in-la- (Verda Tait Banks and a Mrs. Melvin Leavitt) Tait of Milford. Miss Susan Snow who has Correspondent 673-339- employment at the Dixie Medical Center in St. George is spending today here with her parents, George and Lil Snow. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Terry spent last week in St. George with their daughter and Afton and Paige Cannon and children. Gee, I musnt forget to tell all you readers that Enterprise received the nicest snow Thursday night of last week. It was so wet and there were four or five inches. It was a beautiful sight Friday except that it wasnt enough, but was very welcome and we are looking forward to lots more this spring. Robert and Cheryl Truman Hunt spent the weekend here with his grandmother, Erma Bowler Bracken, and with her parents, Alvin and Lu Truman and family. Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Clove and six children are here from Nevada City, California to spend most of this week with his parents, Grant and Nellie Truman Clove and family. Four babies were blessed. The information of one baby I got, the rest I'll put in later. The son of Jim and Pam Hafen strebel was blessed by his grandfather Arlo Hafen and given the name of Andrew John Strebel. Two children were number from here played the Alumni basketball games last week. This was years against years going back a number of years. Most of the players had been on the Dixie Flyers teams some werent. The winners was 1958 which was the Dixie A which they beat, but they lost the second game. The coach Dan Porter and his helper up at Provo was Cliff West. On the team was Eric was Stidham, Curtis Payne, LaMar Stewart, Nek Frei, Randy Frei, Shan Gubler, Jim Cox, Nick Blake, Darren Ence, Doak Johnson and David Burr. All went to Provo except Jim Cox and Darren Ence. Congratulations to the team and coach Dan. Flyers State Winners. 2nd place winners 1970, also state in Champs. The consolation winners was 1976, Bruce Hurst was missing, not all Flyers players. It was fun to be reacquainted with one another. A number received trophies. Washington Co.
