The article points out that alcohol is present in more than 700 prescribed liquid medications ranging from 0.3 percent to 68 percent. The report also suggests liquid prepara- tions should be limited to a maximum of 5 per- cent alcohol in order to prevent serious toxicity problems, parti- cularly in your who people system should be considered. As girls get older, an uncomplicated, infection is not as likely to signify serious anatomical problems, but a first infection in boys at any age is more likely to do so. QUESTION: When is blood pressure considered high enough to need treatment? ANSWER: As I pointed out many times before, this is a very complicated and controversial question. The shortest, simplest answer I could offer is that when the diastolic blood pressure the second number given in a blood is above 90 pressure measurement most consistently, physicians would start to think about about treatment. Some are even more aggressive and say that when pressures of the second number, the diastolic blood pressure, consistently are in the range it is worth keeping your eye on it for the possibility of treating it in the future. Again, however, there are many variations and individual factors that must be taken into consideration. first-tim- 85-8- might intentionally or acciden- tally consume large amounts. QUESTION: How common is it for a child to get a urinary tract infection and how serious is it? ANSWER: It is impossible to generalize about the seriousness of a firsttime urinary tract infection in children but, typically, the younger they are (and especially in the case of boys) the more likely it is to have some underlying cause that needs to be addressed. Certainly, urinary tract infections in children under 6 may be a cause for concern; the possibility of some abnormality in the structure of the urinary e 9 Got the blues? N.Y. 10017 The Sound And The Fury by Chip Phillips Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom. Directed by Steven Spielberg. Screenplay by Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz, from a story by George Lucas. Starring Harrison Ford, Kate Capshaw and Ke Huy Quan. It goes practically without saying that the prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark is a masterwork of energetic, action. Yet, it is disturbing that Steven Spielberg and George Lucas feel compelled to maintain such a relentlessly furious pace at all times, at all cost. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom could certainly use a good dose of intrigue and character development in for a few dazzling action thrills. At times, one feels party to a contest of between two adolescents, which is partly the case here. To this end, poor Kate Crenshaw spends nearly all of her screentime in hysterics and the romantic element is more negligible and juvenile than ever. The new ingredient is Indiana Jones' diminutive Asian side kick, Short Round (Ke Huy Quan), a character non-sto- p borrowed from Sam Fuller's great Korean war film, Steel Helmet. When Jones is thrown together with classy society crooner Willie Scott (Capshaw), in an intricately choreographed opening confrontation in a Shanghai nightclub, a makeshift family unit has been formed, echoing the 1951 Ronald Reagan flick, Hong Kong. The trio resurfaces in an improver-isheIndian village whose sacred Sankara stone has been filched and its children enslaved by the members of a crazed Kali cult. Like an envoy d life-givin- g from the Gods, Jones sets out to retrieve the stone and liberate the children. The boy, Short Round", in obvious dominance over any womanly romantic interest, will play guardian to the adult's soul, an idea no doubt close to Spielberg and Lucas' hearts. The child is the man's conscience and savior. Annoyingly, the films single evil child is shown to have been merely mislead by adults, in the same simplistic manner as the Spielberg-produce- d monster in the Joe Dante seg- ment of Twilight Zone, The Move. Indiana Jones and the Temple of an insanely entertaining but goes to show that more can often be less. It also raises concern for a generation of moviegoers so anestheized to subtletly in the cinema that they will doze off if they are not being blasted right out of their seats.
