Company officials said that they are sensitive to lb problem and invited concerned riucens to Investigate and visit the Oimax Chemical operation. They also said if resident should experience the unpleasant conditions again they should Immediately call the company. It was also suggested at tb meeting that the nauseating odors could be coming from other industries west cd the city. In another issue, people from the Grantsville west bench area petitioned the council for help in maintaining the West Canyon road. The west bench residents are concerned that they are not getting adequate services, such as fire protection and road repair service, for their tax money. Problems exist because much of the property is not included in Grantsville City zoning and by law the city is not responsible for the upkeep of the road. A motion was passed by the council that the city would grade the road as needed and that the superintendent of roads would make the decision as to how often the road would be graded. The Grantsville City Council made a motion to loan the Old Folks Sociable Committee $10,000 to help in the publishing of a book on the history of Grantsville written by Alma Gardner. The city will dip into the general funds and the perpetual funds for the cemetery to help finance the operation. Money received from the sale of the book will go back into the perpetual funds for the cemetery. The council made the stipulation that the loan must be repaid prior to June 30, 1984. Grantsville Holds Post-Hig- h Orientation Tuesday, October 25, from 12:30 to 3:00, Grantsville high school will hold post high school orientation. Representatives from all of the Utah and some mountain west colleges as well as Utah Technical College will be present at the Grantsville High School. It may be impossible for ents and high school seniors to visit every college they are interested in, but the post high school orientation is the next best thing. Seniors will be able to get a feel for the schools as well as have all their questions answered concerning the schools they are interested in. APPLES fcvdnl bex PUMPKINS ft f tb.
