The following week, Grantsville will play Morgan at Grantsville in a 4 p.m. game on Tuesday October 19 and in the final regular season game. Thursday, October 21, Dugway will travel to Randolph for its final league contest against South Rich, and Tooele will host Murray in a 7:30 p.m. game. All games have a big bearing on the final standings in league play. Tooele must defeat South Friday to retain any hopes of a play-of- f spot, and then would have to defeat Murray Thursday to make it into the play-of- f picture. Grantsville will tangle with Lehi this week and Morgan will be in Grantsville Tuesday. A loss for the Pokes will hurt but not be fatal; a pair of wins will put Grantsville in the play-offInjuries which have raised havoc with the Cowboys this year continue to haunt coach Larry Harrison. Latest casualty is hard running Tommy Harris who is out for the season with a broken ankle. A rash of other hurts and bruises have crippled Grantsville, but Harrison is hoping that they will be healed enough to permit the victims to play against Lehi. At Tooele, defensive ace and punter Herman Herrera is definitely out of the South game and maybe for the season, the victim of bruised and cracked ribs, he hurt early in the season. Dugway which earlier lost John DeWitt will be in good shape for the nonleague Altamont contest which should for the important final serve as a tune-u- p game of the season against South Rich. Mclnerney Stars Jay Mclnerney proved to be the catalyst that launched Wendover into the championship, when he blasted out a home run and a triple, and came in to relieve starting pitcher Bodie Peebles in the second inning to stifle St. Joe and become the winning pitcher. Peebles started on the mound for Wendover and looked to be heading for a great outing, when he retired St. Joe in order in the first inning. Wendover had posted a two run lead in the top of the first, but Peebles ran into trouble and was relieved by John Mclnerney with two out in bottom of the second inning. BigK St. Joe had scored three runs to take a 3--2 lead and had runners on first and second when Coach Hart called in Big Jay struck out the first batter he faced to retire the side and then proved invincible the rest of the way, giving up just one hit, walking one, and , it President Reagan speaks on behalf of Employer Support of the National Guard and Reserve. ii y. striking out six in more than 1L a million men and women serving America in the National Guard and Reserve. Basically we are a young team, but the kids have shown steady improvement, and I believe that we are now ready to win that round robin and make a good showing in the state tournament. TTie fielding gem of the game, and the play that seemed to take all the heart of St. Joe was pulled off by right fielder Donnie Anderson. The play came in the third inning when Arbost singled off Mclnerney and had moved to second on an error. With none out, the St. Joe batter cracked out a long fly to Anderson in deep right field. After the catch Arbost tried to leg it to third but was cut down on a great throw from D. Anderson to Lance Duhlstrom at third for a double play.
