Seminary's 50th Year Seminary Program Began In 1926 Editor's note: The following information on the history of the Tooele Seminary was taken from an article written by Earl Nielten, a graduate of the seminary and former principal. The Church of Jesus Christ of y Saints Seminary was liegun in the year program under the direction of 1926, Adam S. Reunion, who was then Commissioner of Education for Latter-da- the church. Alvin Orme svas president of the Tooele Stake when Mr. Reunion approached him with the idea that a religious education program should lie started in Tooele in connection with the high school program. AFTER consulting with his counselors, Charles R. McBride and Mohonri Stookey, President Orme presented the program to the High Council, who in turn presented it to the members of the stake. After much discussion among the members, it svas deC. cided to go ahead with the construction of a building in Tooele, and to place the seminary program in operation. The financing of the building was to be by voluntary contributions, which would raise half of the fund, and the other half would be paid by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. Construction svas begun the summer of 1926. The building was of bluish red brick, approximately 20 feet bv 30 feet, consisting of one class room, office, furnace room and lavatories.
