In the midwest. Mercury outboards outdoor recreation staff reports that people are using the same product to relieve the pain and swelling of bee and wasp stings. And in Texas, meat tenderizer has been used to quell the d sting in skin welts caused by accidental encounters with jellyfish. The treatment is simple. Pour some tcndcrizcr into a small dish or the cup of your hand, add enough water to make a paste, and gently pat the mixture on the sting area. You should experience relief within five to ten minutes. Watch the puncture area closely for signs of infection, and seek skilled medical help if this occurs. Boaters and fishermen are subject to occasional encounters with stinging insects simply because they are outdoors, says the Mercury staff. They recommend you find room in a tackle box or stowage compartment in your boat for a bottle of meat tenderizer. It could be the treatment someone needs, and it ' might save an outing on the water.
