FRIENDS say 35 year old Dolores McKay must have extensive surgery in preparation for a kidney transplant operation in order to preserve her life. For this reason they have organized the Dolores McKay Surgery Fund, placing collection canisters in downtown places of business, and arranging for Wayne Olsen of First Security Bank to act as Trustee for the Fund. According to Shari Mikesell (a very dear friend) Mrs. McKays physician, Salt Lake City Urologist Dr. Anthony Middleton, is very confident the operation will be successful but it should be done as soon as possible. The kidney transplant will follow the initial surgery. Middletons estimate of hospital cost for the first operation is from $2500 to Mrs. Mikesell added. "If we can help to get this done for her the doctor says it could add 30 to 40 years to her life. But without it there is very little hope. Dr. $3,-00- 0, friends MC KAYS are urging support for the campaign from the entire community. Checks should be made out to the Dolores McKay Surgery Fund and sent to Wayne Olsen in care of First Security Bank, Tooele. Contributions of coin or currency can be made directly to the bank or through one of the collection canisters. Anyone with questions is invited to call Mrs. Mikesell. MRS. THE CONFLICT apparently centered around a breakdown in the city's chain of command. Both supervisors and men agreed that definite lines of authority need to lie established and maintained in every department. At alnnit 10:30 Wednesday morning stqiervisors called a halt to the work of several departments to permit the men to personally present their grievances to the Mayor. It was agreed that the supervisors would meet later in the day to establish lines of adminwhich istrative responsibility would then be reported back to the men.
