Mr. Petty was indicted Mar. 13, 1970 by a Federal Grand Jury charging that he attempted to evade Federal income taxes for 1963 and 1964. Count two of this indictment relating to the 1964 year was dismissed after Mr. Petty pleaded guilty to evading his income taxes for the year 1963.
