The petition of DELANO CHRISTOPHER HAPGOOD and DARLA DEE HAPCOOD. his wife, respectfully shows: 1. That your petitioners are husband and wife, having !een married at Laramie, Wyoming on the 2Sth day of Decemler, 1961; that your petitioner Delano Christopher Hapgood is 35 years of age, and your petitioner Darla Dee Hapgood is 29 years of age, and that the petitioner Darla Dee Hapgood is the natural mother of the alxive-nameminors, Barbara Dawn Baker and Roi d Lynn Baker. 2. That Barbara Dawn Baker is 9 years old, having lieen bom July 7, 1959, and that Roi Lynn Baker is 8 years old, having been bom Octolter 16, I960. 3. That the said minor children are residents of Tooele residents with your petition County. State of Utah, and have ers at 381 West 1st Avenue, Dugway, Utah, since June of 1964. 4. That the natural father of said minor children is Roliert Elmo Baker, who to the liest knowledge of the petitioners and last address known to the petitioners, was the United States Army; that on or alxxit Decemlier of 1963, the said father of the alxve-name- d minors deserted and aliandoned said minor children and ever since such time has failed to support said minors, even though he has the capacity so to do; that in fact the father of said minors has supplied no monies to supMrt said children as set out by the divorce decree of the petitioner Darla Dee Hapgood, and the natural father; that the natural father has never contacted the said children or their mother since Decemlier of 1963, and has in fact and in law deserted and abandoned said minor children for that period of time. 5. That on Septemlier 6, 1961, your petitioner Darla Dee Hapgood, received a decree of divorce from the said Roltert Elino Baker and it was decreed that she should have the sole care, custody and control of the said minor children. 6. That your petitioners are desirous that the petitioner, Delano Christopher Hapgood lie pemiitted to adopt the said minor children, Barbara Dawn Baker and Roi Lynn Baker. 7. That your petitioners feel that it is for the liest interest and welfare of said minor children that they lie adopted by the petitioner Delano Christopher Hapgood and that the said minor children have voluntarily expressed their desire that they lie adopted by the petitioner, Delano Christopher Hapgood. 8. That your petitioner Delano Christopher Hapgood, is in good health and is gainfully employed as a computer analyst for the Deseret Test Center at Dugway, Utah, and has a regular income in excess of $10,000 per year; that your petitioners are renting the home at 381 West 1st Avenue, Dugway, Utah, and claim that they can give the financial, spiritual and affectionate care to which said minor children are entitled and your petitioner, Delano Christopher Hapgood, states that he has acquired a love and affection for said children to the extent that he stands ready and willing to accept said children in all 'respects as if they were his children by birth and he wishes to assume all of the rights, and lie subject to, all of the duties toward said minor children that such a relationship of parent and child requires. d WHEREAS, your petitioners pray that the Ix-e- aliove-entitle- court: A perum under eighteen years TO: Rollo Hyde father of the almve named child. proceeding concerning the almve child is pending in the aliove named Court and in adjudication will lie made which may include the permanent termination of all your parental rights.
