Moat people .'think that we are State Indus-;trlboys and juvenile delin- I Uler quent. For example, some people refer to ui ai the Camp William Gang. Others refer to us, with their voices filled with ridicule, as the dropouts." t Out if the of us, there are a few trainees that have been In trouble with the law. "SO WHAT!" Does that make all of us delinquents. It does not, as any fair minded person must know. We feel it very unfair to us to be stigmatized as delinquents Just be. Cause a few have been guilty of minor offenses. Every boy here is here voluntarily because he has been told that the program being conducted here would lead to job opportunities. This should be evidence enough to prove to you that we are wise enough to take advantage of the opportunities we have. It also should show that we are doing our best to prepare ourselves for useful employment Further, it shows that we have the desire to be worthy members of society. It should be known to aD that we are good boys at heart. We are making progress as our counselor will tell you. We do appreciate what is being done for us. We ask for fair treatment from the public, as well as understanding, by Dale Code fifty-eigh- TV. The Mission Home is in Hale, Cheshire near the mission's southern boarder, a line from the tip of Wales and the estuary of the Mersey River to the Borough of Maccles field, dividing it from the Central British Mission, Durham: and Northumberland with the! Pennine chain dividing it; from the North East British Mission. To the North lies Scotland with two missions, and to the west, the Irish Sea. Liverpool, second only to London as a sea port and one of England's busiest cities ( was the port of arrival of the first missionaries in July of 1837. The first baptisms in the British Isles were performed in the River Ribble near Preston in the north of Lancashire. Milnthorpe, a small village in Westmoreland was the birthplace of John Taylor, the third President of the Church.
