Guests ere the newly appointed INTELLECTUAL Intellect in America is resented as a kind of excellence, as a claim to distinction, as a challenge to egalitarianism, as a quality which almost certainly deprives a man or woirnn of the common touch. I believe ours is the only educational system in the world vital segments oi which have fallen into the hands y of people who joyfully and proclaim their hostility to intellect and their eagerness to identify with children who show the least intellectual promise. mili-tantl- -- Richard Hofstadter, in American 72 Life. Civilization is a compromise between idealism and realism. Arnold H. Glasow. expected 20,000 hunters will move onto Utahs marshes and other waterways Saturday, October 5, for the noon opening of the annual duck and goose season, which continues this year for 90 lays of shooting ending Jan. 2, 19C4. CURRENT predictions forecast good hunting during the early weeks of the hunt based upon an average or better production of waterfowl on all Utah marshes. The success is expected to decrease somewhat as the season progresses as a reult of the continuing poor production of ducks on the northern nesting areas. Migrating birds from the north annually make up a large portion of the later season The game department listed the following reminders to waterfowl hunters: The noon opening hour, Oct. 5, will be strictly enforced as will the daily shooting hours of hour before sunrise to sunset thereafter. FIVE BIRDS comprise both daily and possession limits for ducks. It is illegal to kill or possess either canvasback or redhead ducks this year and hunters are advised to know their target before pulling the trigger. Though a bag and possession limit of six geese is allowed, only two of these may be of Canada or dark species. All persons 16 years of age or older must possess a proper state license and a federal waterfowl stamp before hunting. The stamp must bear the owners signature, in ink, across the face of the stamp. JUVENILES 14 and 15 years old may hunt waterfowl without purchase of the federal stamp provided they possess the state juvenile bird hunting license. However, they may hunt only when accompanied by someone of adult years, 21 years of age or older. Shotguns must be plugged so they are incapable of holding more than three shells in firing chamber and magazine combin-ed- . one-ha- lf All other rules and regulations pertaining to the waterfowl seaVISUAL-HIT- SINSATIONAL REDUCTIONS FABULOUS SPECIALS SENSATIONAL VALUE E OVEN BUILT-I- ...double ovens are placed at the most RIE brings zesty outdoor barbecued flavor convenient work height...
