FOULOW LNG IS a report at made by Mr. Sandberg on the experience. W have recently returned from a U month labor mission In New Zealand. While there we supervised the construction of three new chapels. The first was at Kawerau and took ten months to complete. and one-haThe second was a small chapel, on tha sea coast, at Punaruku. This building took four and one-hamontha to build. Tha third was at Ka.kohe and IS months were spent building this beauti-fu- l chapel. At times w labored under trying conditions such as rah. and mud. THE PUNARUKU Chapel was located $2 miles from where we lived and all materials had to be hauled through native bush and along rough, dirt roads the whole distance. We had to do some road building, by hand, to get the truck to the sand and gravel necessary for construction. Materials on the other two chapels were not so hard to get hold of. but conditions were trying at times. "We met many wonderful people. both of Maori (Polynesian) and European descent while down there, and many are dedicated friends. THE BUILDING program la still moving ahead in New Zealand and one chapel la completed approximately every six weeks. These chapels are a great missionary for the church, especially those with full sized recreation halls. This is because of the love the New Zealanders have for sports of all kinds. The children loved the New Zealand schools, even though strict discipline Is enforced by the teachers. We all found It very difficult to say good bye after our mission was completed and we will always treasure the experiences we had there, both the good and the bad. lf SIUV lf Back from a two year mli.lon to New Zealand aro (ho Farrell Sandberg family.
