The occasion was to greet their new grand daughter who was bom May 15 at the Mercy Hospital at Sacramento. Tipping the scales at seven pounds five and one-haounces, she will be named Tina Marie. The Thomas have two other children, Lisa Jan and Mark Paul. Mrs. Thomas is the former Margene Mercer. Also here for graduation is Mrs. Leonard P. Clark, of Portland, Oregon, who is visiting the Kenneth Deans. Mrs. Clark, an old friend whom Mrs. Dean had not seen in over eleven years, arrived Sunday and plans to remain until Friday night, attending Scott Deans graduation from Tooele High School. On Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. Dean entertained at bridge in her honor, and she will be honored at a luncheon given by Mrs. Dean's mother, Mrs. D. E. Hammond, of Salt Lake City. MRS. NONA SHIBLEY and Mrs. Ernest Weyland of Tooele and Mrs. Laura Johnson, of Grantsville, returned Monday from a three weeks tour of the East. Traveling by train, they went first to Washington, D.C., where they visited Mrs. B. W. Allred, sister of Mrs. Shibley and Mrs. Weyland. While there they did extensive sightseeing including a trip to Mount Vernon, and spent a day at the Allreds farm in Maryland. Accompanied by Mrs. Allred, they spent a few days in New York, sight seeing and shopping and attending the theater. MRS. SHIBLEY, MRS. WEYLAND, and Mrs. Johnson went next to Henderson, Tennessee, to visit another sister, Mrs. Melba Bruce. In the spirit of Southern hospitality, the visitors were entertained at a round of parties during their visit. Mrs. Bruce accompanied them on their return to the West. Stopping overnight in Denver, they were guests of Mrs. John- sons son, Charles G. Johnson, formerly of Grantsville. Mrs. Bruce plans to spend six weeks or more visiting with friends and relatives in Tooele. Grantsville, and Salt Lake City. MR. AND MRS. ROBERT POLLOCK and children, Cath-leeRobert, Jr., and Kimberley, will leave Thursday morning. for a three weeks trip. They plan to go first to West where they will spend several days sightseeing Yellowstone, and touring the Park. The remainder of their vacation they will spend with friends and relatives in Seattle and Tacoma. Back from a spring vacation in Boston, New York and Miami, are Mr. and Mrs. Dale James. Traveling by air, they were able to do much sightseeing at each of the cities they visited, in the nine days they were away. In New York they saw the ticker tape parade for Astronaut Gordon Cooper.
