Record Crowd Attends Granlsville Sociable Fri. ed and room by Toni Allred Granlsville celebrated its 79th Old Folk Sociable Friday, with approximately 900 people in attendance. Friendships were renewed, old friends greeted one another happily and people who were there for the first time expressed their Interest and enthusiasm for such a unique social. Indeed it is a special occasion. and each year it seems to be biggr and better. HILDA ERICKSON, our Pioneer lady attended the sociable with her daughter and son- - in- - law and granddaughter, Mrs. Penina Anderson, from California, wrote in the guest book So nice to be here." That seemed to be the feeling of everyone - it was so nice to be here. Former residents from near and far came Home for the sociable. All of our citizens 75 years and over wrre honored and five recently retired Grants-vill- e teachers were given special tribute in the outstanding program which was held in the afternoon. The program was held in the High School auditorium under the able direction of Barbara Hutchns and her committee. Sad to sav, but many many people had to be turned away, because the auditorium was packed, chairs were crammed to- gether back stage, the spaces around the doorways were fill- - thre Campbell expressed their rppreciation to their comm 'tee and to everyone who helped In sny wav to make this sociahle so successful. They live in Centerville and came down to attend nephew Denny Orgills farewell testimonial last Sunday. Denny is feeling a little below par these days and everyone is hoping he will feel better soon. Orendorff will serve as Associate Matron with Harold C. Orendorff, Associate Patron. The membership at this time totals 46, including the 18 newly petitioned members who were inititated at the special meeting by Worthy Grand Patron Day, Worthy Grand Matron, Elsie R. Jones, and the Grand Charter Officers. Upon receipt of their charter, the Tooele Valley Chapter will succeed one of the oldest Eastern Star Clubs in Utah. The original club, known as the Eastern Star Club of Tooele, was organized March 8. 1926 with eight members.
