Town folks of Wendover as well as rails will extend best wishes but there will be a note of sadness in farewells of friends that have known Mr. Ford for the 20 vears he has made his home in Wendover. He, too, will have many nostalgic memories of his life on the railroad which will intrude during quiet moments from time to time. Boomer was born on Feb. 14, 1897 in Wooldridge, Tennessee. At the ace of twenty three he went to work for the L&N Railroad Co. at Ravenna, Kentucky, and remained with them from August 1T0 to December 1922. He came to Utah for the first t:m in January of 1919 and was stationed at Fort Douglas, as part of the United States Army, until September of the same year at which time he was transferred to Texas.
