The City Council made a bid on this truck, and a great addition to fire has protection for Grantsville bought at this time. In 1957 a new, larger siren was installed in back of the City Hall, putting the old one in the east end of town for better coverage. The department conducts regular fire drills at the school as well as sponsoring a poster contest, with cash prizes, during fire prevention week. The Grantsville department has in conjunction with the Second and Third Quorum of Elders, a blood bank in the Salt Lake LDS Hospital that has given many pints of blood to the local citizens.
