The tree will serve as a back drop, for the Tooele High School A Capella Chorus, Friday evening, at 6:00 p.m., when they present a short program of Christmas music. The Chorus will perform immediately after Mayor Bevan throws the switch (located across the street) to light the Christmas Tree and Christmas street lights. Newman, Public Information Officer at Dugway, reports, that an all out effort, to publicize the Christmas opening has been made at Dugway, and that a shoppers bus will be coming in Friday evening, to bring those who cant make it by car. He said there was also a possibility of a Saturday Shoppers bus. Saturday is Santas big day in Tooele, as he is scheduled to arrive at the Tooele Air Port at 11:00 a.m. His procession will travel from the air port to Main Street with a special escort by the Tooele County Jeep Patrol. Santa will then preside at a free Kiddies Christmas party and free movies, beginning at 12 noon. Bags of candy will also be passed out. At 2: 30 p.m. the same Kiddies Christmas Party will be duplicated for children who could not attend at 12 noon. If the whole Explorer Post cannot attend, the Post President and vice president should sign up. Applications can be obtained from Dr. Stutznegger. This annual event is one of the largest conducted by the Council each year. The Conference will be held at the University of Utah, and will conclude with a big Explorer Ball in the new Union Building Ballroom. The main part of the conference will be devoted to discussion groups among the Explorers led by other Explorers.
