In the final game against the Soaring Kagles, the final score was but it was won by inches. If you went to the game Saturday you will know what Im talking about. On the first offensive play of the game Juab had an uncharacteristic fumble giving Juan Diego the football on the Juab 48 yard line. Juan Diego scored on that possession putting the score at Juab responded by scoring two touchdowns, one of w hich was taken from a forced Juan Diego fumble. In the red zone, on a fourth down and about two yards to go for a first down, Trevor Jones rushed up the middle for a 2 yard gain. Several people thought he had the first down, but the officials spotted the ball just a few inches short turning the ball over to Juan Diego on the Juab 15 yard line. That was the turning point of the game. Instead of Juab going up 21- 33-1- 7-- 14-1- Juan Diego Coach John Colosimo said If we hadnt made that stop they probably would have gone up 21-and I didn't see us coming back. We had no answer for them in the first hair. Coach Mike Bowring thought he had the first down and had already draw n up the next play to push the ball in for the score. He said If we had gotten the first down, taken more time off the clock and gone up 21-- into half time the momentum would have been huge. 7 The second half Juab moved down the field, but Juan Diego picked off a pass on the Juab 35 yard line. After that the ball just bounced Juan Diegos way, literally. In the fourth quarter, Juan Diego scored twice, the first was set up on a long pass to Marquis Wilson, then on the next play run in by Zach Horrocks. The second was set up by Juan Diegos line drive kickoff which bounced hard off the chest of one of Juabs front lineman right into the hands of a Juan Diego special teams. The very next play Tovey handed off to Wilson who ran 51 yards for the final score, ending all hopes for a Juab win. The score definitely didnt tell the whole story. 33-1- They came in droves to Derek Fulton moves in for the kill. and sacks the JD quarterback Parker support the team. and in another play, Kyle Callaway Mason Miller, the other Tovey. quarterback.
