HUNTSMAN, a.m. 10 All sessions will meet in the chapel of the stake Services for Frances Bainter to be held June 19th in Nephi Frances Elizabeth Bainter, age 75, passed away June 14, 2004 after a long illness, at her home in Nephi, Utah. She was born February 14, 1929 in Gadsden, Alabama, to William Belle and James Elizabeth Atkerson Johnson. She married Gordon Eugene Bainter in 1968 in Las Vegas, ' ' Nevada. She had a love for the outdoors and nature, especially watching deer. She loved to travel with her husband and had visited all lower 48 states. She had a knack for collecting various collectibles, a special gift for taking pictures of family and friends and researching family history. She is survived by her husband Gordon Bainter; sons, Todd and William Bainter and Ed LaRue; daughters, Jewel Freant and Mary Jes-s- i Hagerman; sisters, Mary Ellen Wood and Sue Venable; 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jewel M. Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004 in the Nephi 5th Ward, 345 East 500 North. Friends may call Friday evening from p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North. There is a $7.00 per night fee to the City of Santaquin for 20-2- Nephi Utah Stake Conference will be held on Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20. An adult session will be held on Saturday at 7 p.m. General session of conference will be held on Sunday at 3 & 4 Callao Mail in precinct Nephi, Utah JR. For STATE SENATOR. The pageant presents the history of the Restoration, telling how Joseph Smith received the First Vision and was given the golden plates, from which he translated the Book of Mormon. It also depicts the westward movement of the Mormons till they arrive in Utah. Visitors are welcome but those attending the pageant for the first time should remember to arrive early so they can find a place to park and to sit. The pageant attracts more than 20,000 visitors annually. Those planning to attend the Manti Temple for a session during the pageant should remember that the temple closes early and will end with the 3:30 session each day of the performance. The pageant is not open on Sunday. After cessation of the Walker War, peace reigned in Central and Southern Utah until 1865 when Blackhawk, owing to a misunderstanding with a Manti citizen, determined to seek revenge and began again to wage war upon the people. He was successful at first, and other tribes throughout the area joined him. This was the opening of hostilities betw een the white settlers and Indians in Southern Utah which continued through several years. It was the most disastrous to the white population of all the Utah Indian wars. Money of Spanish Fork began pushing for a state organization to commemo- rate the Blackhawk War. Descendants have gathered annually to commemorate the historical events.
