This new publication will replace the old version with the same name along with all of the sports and academics booklets. The new guide provides an introduction to the program and how to implement and use it, as well as all the revised requirements boys need to fulfill to earn belt loops and pins in each of the 31 subjects covered. The Cub Scout Academics program will now include computers. Beginning this fall. Cub Scouts can earn academics belt loops and pins for completing requirements related to knowledge of computers, computer software, t Chess and wildlife conservation also will be added to the Academics program. For chess, Scouts can earn academics belt loops and pins for fulfilling requirements related to the game and strategies involved in playing it. For wildlife conservation, Cub Scouts can earn belt loops and academic pins for fulfilling requirements related to the food chain, endangered species, and natural resources.
