Nephi City Police are justly proud of the dog, Lucky, who is part of the department and has been for the past eight months. It has been a long trip for Lucky he comes all the way from Czechoslovakia to Nephi, Utah, where he lives with Alden Orme, a fellow police officer. This dog even has a job as a respected member of the police force and, in particular, has been trained to detect drugs and to apprehend suspects. He was trained, for six months, in Jacksonville, Florida, and then was purchased by Nephi City Police Department with drug forfeiture money, said Orme.
