In what turned out to be South iF Summits Homecoming played on Juabs field, the Wasps were left with a crushing defeat. The Wildcats walked away with a 28-- 0 shutout. Juab left Thursday as scheduled to play the Wildcats in but a power outage just before the game sent the Wasps back home that night without playing the game. The next day it was decided that Kamas would bring the game to Juab. From beginning to end, the game was all Summit. The Wasps offense was held in check all night long. They turned the ball over three times on interceptions and once on a fumble. The Wildcat defense held Juabs offense to approximately 100 yards total. Leading the way for Juab was Brett Mortensen with 57 yards on the ground. The brightest spot for Juabs offense was the punting of Trent Olsen who kicked six times for an average of 35 yards per kick. The Wasp defense also had their trouble as the Wildcats completed 14 passes for 127 yards and rushed for another 158. Leading the Juab defense was Mitch Durbin with 20 points, followed by his brother Mike, and Joey Sutorius with 18 points each. Jared Jarrett and Jaren Lynn were next with 13 points each. Jared picked off two Summit passes and Kris Kelsey recovered a Summit fumble late in the game. The Wasps JV and Sophomore teams both won last week. The JV defeated the Wildcats 16-and the Sophomores beat them in double overtime. JHS Correspondent 15-1- The Juab High School Lady Wasps played the Bulldogs Thursday, October 15. It took three games to get the job done, but the Lady Wasps put Gunnison in their place. They won the twice during the school year. The first returns must be postmarked by December 18, 1998; the second by May 3, 1999.
