The new temples are planned for Detroit, Michigan, and Spokane, Washington. Called to serve in the Presidency of the seven-ma- n Seventy were Elders D. Todd Christofferson, Marlin K. Jensen and David E. Sorensen, all of whom have been serving in the First Quorum of the Seventy. Members of the Quorums of the Seventy serve as administrators, overseeing the Churchs operations in different parts of the world. Some of them also serve in administrative positions in various Church departments. The three new members of the Presidency fill vacancies left by Elders Monte J. Brough, W. Eugene Hansen and Jack H Goaslind. Elder Brough was released so he can serve as president of the North America Southeast Area, with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Elders Hansen and Goaslind will be given emeritus general authority status at the upcoming October serve some 13,300 members of the Church in four stakes and one district, plus the Michigan Detroit Mission.
