Feb. 11, a criminal arrest warrant was sent, via FAX, to the police department for an alleged theft which dccurred in Louisiana and was charged against a local individual. The agreement is like the agreements Nephi has with Levan and Mona, the other two cities who are part of the gas system owned and operated by the cities themselves. Juab County is also a member of the organization. The staff has reviewed the draft agreement," said Randy McKnight, city administrator. Under terms of the agreement, each city would have its own staff to operate the natural gas system in the community. At times of emergency, or when the work load is extra heavy, the cities could work together to assist the other, said McKnight. Each will keep the staff and equipment necessary to maintain the individual system. Mona and Levan are billed annually, said McKnight. From the cost of the gas used for the year, the rates are determined by the individual cities. We suggest the language and let each entity do their own update, said McKnight. One item which needed to be added to the agreement was the hold harmless language which would govern those times the two entities work together. When one city is on the others turf, the language needed to be there to protect both cities, he said. Each council member will review the agreement and will discuss it at the next work session. Those property owners who might be directly affected by the airport expansion project were invited to a meeting at city hall to discuss the tentative timetable for the land purchases. The meeting involved city council members and the property owners. The general public was not invited as the meeting was set up to discuss the issue with those who had vested interests in the time frame for purchase of the needed land. It wasnt a public meeting in the sense that all citizens were invited, said Randy McKnight, city administrator. The landowners who were invited to the meeting were not in favor of the project. They do not want their farm land to be purchased by the city for the expansion of the airport facilities, he said. ; cels of property owned by Nephi City are required for the project to continue. The easements are required for the East Juab Water Efficiency Project, said Chad Brough, mayor. The easements will be held by the Central Utah Water Conservancy District, he said. The project can t happen without our easements, said Brough. We are giving them easements to support the project. The irrigation project is designed to convert water use on 1,600 acres of farmland from flood to sprinkler irrigation by replacing earth and ed concrete canals with a pipeline irrigation system. Construction on the system is planned to begin this summer. Darin Peterson, council member who abstained from voting on - the easements because of his personal interest, said the project would also get rid of the open ditches used by irrigators. The council also gave authority to Mayor 'Brough to sign the easements. McKnight said the project will be completed fairly soon. It is on the agenda of UDOT and the contract has been awarded.. He said some accommodation will be required by the residents of the community during the construction stage. Certain travel lanes in all four directions will be closed to traffic while the construction takes place. Those using the streets will be required to take detours for a period of time, said McKnight. , , . In addition, for periods of time, the electricity to some areas will be disrupted.' The city staff will warn those areas in advance.
