It has The been used in relationship to the New Birth. In our natural state we are lost and in desperate need of a Saviour. The Bible says when we repent of our sins and put all of our faith and trust in Jesus Christ and Him alone, we will experience New Birth by the power of God. After we are born again the Bible tells us that we are a "New Creature created in Christ Jesus, and enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Through the Holy Spirit, we have power over sin and are able to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord. Finally, those who have experienced the New Birth and have been made a New Creature, can look forward to a New Home! 2 Pet. 3: 13 says, Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. There are two undisputable truths from this verse. First, this new home is Promised By God. All of Gods promises are true and faithful. KYKN God, that cannot lie, promised before the word began; (Titus 1:2) This promise of a new heaven and earth was first delivered to mankind over 2700 years ago from the prophet Isaiah. For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. (Isa. 65:17) The second truth in this verse is that our new home will be Prepared By God, He has done this for us so that we might be with him forever. In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (Joh. 14:2-3- ) John described the indescribable in Revelation. I am inclined to agree with Paul in 1 Cor. 2:9, But as it is written. Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Our finite minds cannot even begin to imagine what heaven will be like! Iam looking forward to this New Home that the Lord is preparing, and I believe His promise that all those who repent of their sins and trust fully in Jesus for their salvation will be saved and living forever with Him there. What a wonderful word the word new is. It brings to mind so many things. It is my hope that when you hear the word from now on, you will be mindful of all the blessings that are associated with it from God's Word to those who are saved.
