I feel I have accomplished what I set out to accomplish, as well as many other things, and as of December 31, 1995, I will officially resign as secretary treasurer for Special Service District No. 1, said Anderson in a letter of resignation. Anderson handed the letter to commissioners and it was read into the minutes of Mondays meeting. We would like to extend our, appreciation to you, said Gordon Young, commission chair. We know you have worked hard and we hate to see you resign. We dont have to accept this resignation, do we? asked Commissioner Ike Lunt. We certainly hate to see you go. Anderson said she was at a county commission meeting on October 3, 1988, when the special service district was formed. The purpose of forming the district was to obtain funds to renovate the old county courthouse, she said. When the board of directors was selected at the meeting in 1988, she said, she volunteered to serve as the secretarytreasur-er- . My main reason was to help my mother, Evelyn Lomax, and Loreen Kirgan and Zoe Gibson, who were on the g committee for the DUP (Daughters of the Utah Pioneers) trying to raise funds for a museum, she ' said. I was given that position and have served as such for the last seven years attending all meetings, said Anderson. There have been many ups and downs from applying for grant funds from the State of Utah, contacting and meeting with members of that board, to receiving the grant moneys, get " . -- $jr?,yrn:r Hr-- ni G oja; t 31 3i ilC'M ! The past year, said Anderson, the final payment for the construction of the project was a management agreement between the district and the DUP which should help to outline the specific duties of the district and the Daughters, she said. When I look at the completed project, I have a great deal of pride in what has been accomplished, said Anderson.
