Trees used in public buildings shouldnt be displayed for more than 15 days. They should also be treated with a fire retardant solution, he said. Theres not need to worry about old, unattached needles accumulated inside the crown; Though these needles can be messy and a fire hazard, he said they do not indicate a poor tree. They can be easily removed. Once a fresh tree is purchased, keep it outside until you are ready to decorate it.
