The agreement is being designed to govern the operations of the Nephi City landfill when all of the East Juab County residents use the facility. It will determine the dumping costs and other costs of the facility and how each entity should pay their fare share of operation costs. Juab County Commissioners agreed to attend the meeting to be held at 3 p.m. on October 16. We are ready for another meeting of all parties to establish the interlocal agreement, said McKnight. The interlocal agreement will establish a governing body for the landfill operation. The governing body of the interlocal agreement will establish rules as well as costs. Both Mona and Levan are now using the landfill, said McKnight. They have the contract with Mona and would like to do the people who live in the fields between Nephi and Mona, said Ike Lunt, commissioner. They wanted to know ifthe commission would be favorable to the idea. Lunt said officials from the company told him they would bill the customers so the county would not be required to do that task. "They said they would provide cans for the customers. It sounds like a good deal for the county, said Lunt. Lunt said the 20 to 30 homes located in the county between the two communities would add to the proficiency of Laidlaws collection business. The truck is not completely filled by the garbage collected in Mona. They said it would help them to have a full truck when they dump at the Nephi landfill, said Lunt. Commissioners agreed to consider a formal proposal which will be made by commission chair. Mike Shaw and Doyce Coats, both regional managers for Mountain Fuel, told commissioners the company and other counties have used similar documents in the past. Our line goes past Ash Grove, said Coats. Therefore, he said, gas delivery to the cement company would not be complex. A franchise agreement between Mountain Fuel and Juab County would allow the company to provide natural gas service to Ash Grove Cement located west of Nephi. However, Juab County Commissioners requested Mountain Fuel representatives give the commission two weeks to review the documents and have the county attorney review them and make recommendations to the commission. Elder will also serve as a part time road crew employee. Ike Lunt, Juab County Commissioner, said the selection was made because Elder was familiar with all the roads in the county. We had 12 applicants and we carefully considered them all, said Lunt.
