One is that on Aug. 17, the stake singles party was held at the churchs bowery, and we were served a lovely meal and saw a lovely program. As I looked at the committees standing in the hot sun serving a big crowd, I thought of what little thanks they get for all the work they put in. So heres a big thank you. You are wonderful. Also thanks to Rex McPherson fur furnishing the corn for the cob. Now No. 2. We moved here in 1927 and for a number of years, the only family recreation we had was to take a tent and food up the canyon by the creek, cook on an outside fire, and have a pony for the Utah 623-790- kids to use. There were cattle everywhere. I know this, as one hot summer day a big bull came up the dirt road bellowing and pawing, and it didnt take me long to get three kids up a tree. He came to our camp and took a swipe at the tent. He stayed around for awhile and then left. Now that was our Nephi canyon. Now look what has happened. The forest service has taken away our lovely camping spots, poled off the gathering places for families, and will allow no horses, no cattle, no bike trailers, and no nothing. Yes, something has to be done, even if it means going door to door to see if we cant get it the canyon back to us. Thanks to all who have worked so hard on this project. Chloe L.
