We need a person in that office who has the strength and integrity to raise and lower tax values as. needed, without depending on outside people to place or approve those values for us. First of all, the school district would save thousands of dollars in textbook expenses each year. Perhaps the classload per teacher could be reduced by diverting textbook money to additional staff. Students, then, might be able to receive more individual instruction and would learn more. Taxes could be lowered. Granted, the students might glance through the pictures in the advertisements, but on the other hand, they probably soon would ignore them. The PTA suggested that the district look for alternative news programs. They indicated that if funding were a problem but priority was high the money could be found. But remember! A short time ago, e is a program going could lead to future on now-thasuccess. Another problem is the overall community support for the football program. Many townspeople dont come out to the games.
