The water was welcome, but the timing of the storms has really messed up my riding. If they would just stop a little earlier it would be appreciated. See to it wont you. How much would you pay to dunk my bod in a large tub of ice water? Craig Sperry says that he thinks he can raise a lot money by offering you just that at the 4th of July Carnival this year. Because theNorth Stake is in charge this year, he has dreamed up a Dunking Auction." It works like any auction except what you get for your money, if you are the high bidder for the Dunkie, is three (3) balls to plop your purchase in a tub of Ice Cold Water. Craig says that he has asked, or is asking all the local politicians; the Mayors of Nephi, Levan and Mona, the Juab County Commissioners, all the candidates for the fall election, the Sheriff, the Chief of Police and many other notables to be the Dunkies. Money raised goes to a good cause, the Boy Scouts. I told Craig that I would be glad to be a Dunkie and I would run the names of the other Dunkies in my column for a couple of weeks to raise the bidding. Sort of like shopping the ads. He agreed, so starting next week read this column to find out if your favorite or unfavorite is going to be there. If he or she isnt call Craig and suggest that he or she be asked, then bring plenty of cash to the carnival on the 4th. Since it is a election year I am also going to run the names of those who wont be a Dunkie since I know you all want to know who is to proud or too scared to lend their bods for such a good cause. Call it blackmail if you want, but all is fair in fund raising. I think that Craig should give a prize to the Dunkie that causes the biggest splash and to the one that raises the most money. Ill tell you what. I will give a years subscription, a $15.00 value, to the Dunkie that goes for the most money and another to the purchaser of said Dunkie. What a value, a chance to dunk your purchase and get a free year of The Times-New- s at the same time. Just one more week until the start of Summer and 1 1 or 12 more weeks until the start of School. I only say that since around my house, my kids are having School Withdrawal. After two weeks of vacation they always get bored with the TV and then start to find other things to fill up their days. The pool has been busy, even with the bad weather, and it will really get busy when the weather heats up a bit. Chase, Md.
