Show Four File for Juab Improvements Underway at Counfly Positions Canyon Area Four additional filings for Juab County offices have been made during, the past week, all on the Democratic ballot. Juab County Commissioner Filing for the post, and to compete for the nomination against incumbent commissioner Oail Galloway of Eureka was Jerald Drussell of Eureka-.- . This filing will necessitate a Primary election, according to present indications. Duane Sperry, newly appointed Juab Ooonty Sheriff, has filed for this nomination, according to records in the office of County Clerk Janies P. Christensen. Two other incumbent officers. County Clerk Christensen and County 'Assessor Anon Garfield of Mona, have filed for the partys nomination. No filings had been made as of noon Wednesday by Republicans seeking the respective offices. Ranger Harold E. laird stated today that Improvement 'work la now going at eBar Canyon (Camp Dadandson) and that the work is progressing satisfactorily. This work ie the first phase of a new project to be completed at this campground. (Barriers, parking spurs, and new road locations will be constructed within the next two weeks. After construction work on the roads has been cc pleted they will then be graveled and in the future will be oiled. The next phase of the project will take place shortly after July 1. At that time additional tables, grills, new stoves and a sprinkling system will be installed. This will facilitate more groups and a larger number of people at the Bear Canyon site. Ranger Laird stated, that during the construction period the campground will be quite badly tom up. Any groups desiring to use this area should contact the Forest Ranger's office before doing so. A campground which will accomodate large groups is long over due for the Nephl area, the Ranger said. This need is very critical as several large groups already have reserved the Bear Canyon site for this season. With the completion of this improvement, the needs of the local residents as well as the vacationing public will be better satisfied. - Announcement is made that tryouts of propsective new team members for the Little League teams will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. ait the Canyon View Park. Levan Lions For Saturday Evening Select Hoyt All boys of Nephl, not now on' a Little League team, and who will be eight years of age by July 31, are eligible to try out, and encouraged to be in attendance. Fathers of boys who are members of Little League teams are asked to be at the Canyon View Park Saturday at 5 p.m. to help get the fields in shape for the opening of play. They left at 9 am. and first step was at the Primary Children's Hospital where they enjoyed a picture on why the hospital was built and then enjoyed a jour of Hie hospital. After leaving the hospital they went to the Temple grounds where they enjoyed box lunches. Following lunch, they went to the Wax Museum, where e historical, figures Impressed each of them. They then returned to the Temple grounds for a tour with an LDS missionary. Mr. Pickering succeeds Del-MaHowlett, who has served for the past year, and who now becomes state director from the Nephi organization. Other newly installed officers include DeMar Gadd, first vice president; Joe Allen, second vice president; James H. Pexton, secretary and treasurer; Robert Day, Don Jones and Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the Nephi Fourth Ward Chapel for Mrs. Phyllis Bagley Hall, 36, wife of Elwood R. Hall. Mrs. Hall died Tuesday morning at the family residence. 'Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home at Nephi, and Friday from II a.m. until time of services at the Ehurth Ward chapel. Mrs. Hall was bom July 18, 1929 at Moroni, a daughter of Royal and Baryn Ann Anderson Bagley. She was educated in Moroni schools and graduated from the LDS Seminary. She was married to Elwood Reid Hall June 4, 1944 at the LDS Manti Temple. She has been active in Relief Society and Primary work in the Nephi Fourth Ward, and also has (been active in the Parent-Teachorganization. Survivors are her husband. E3wood R. Hall of Nephi; a son and two daughters: Reid Hall, Linda Hall and Beverly Hall, all of Nephi. Also surviving are her mother., Mary Ann Bagley of Payson; two brothers and two sisters: Heber C. Bagley of Payson; Dr. Royal Bagley of Moroni, Mrs. Marion Peterson of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Loeta Allred of Sandy. Burial at the Vine Bluff cemetery will be directed by Anderson Funeral Home. Miss Jeannine Postlewate Engagement Told Mr. and Mrs. Wilkie H. Postlewate of Hot Springs, Arkansas announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Phyllis Jean-nin- e (Jeanne) to Myron D. Shepherd, son of Mr. and (Mrs. Heber G. Shepherd of Levan, Utah. Both are students at the Brigham Young University. Mr. Shepherd served an LDS mission in the Central Atlantic States. The couple plan to exchange vows in LDS Temple ceremonies at the Manti Temple on June 24. They will be honored at a reception the same evening at the Levan Ward recreation hall. They plan to make their home at Henderson, Nevada. Elder Lynn R. Greenhalgh Explorer Gains Hal Liddiard First Ward to Trip to Hawaii Honor Elder Each year the Boy Scouts of America selects a' boy to re- port to the President of the United States of the activities of Scouting during the past year. This is done during Scout week in February. Fenton L. Broadhead, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. EHmer Broad-beawas selected as the central Utah representative of the National Parks council, he being selected over four other boys from Sanpete, Millard and Juab Counties. Fenton went to Provo to compete on the council level, where a boy from Provo won the opportunity to represent the council to compete on the state level. Because of his selection from the central Utah area, Fenton has been given the opportunity to go to Hawaii with nine other boys from the council.
