'FromWhere I Sit By Allan R. Gibson If you didnt see the Carson and Barnes Circus last Wednesday, you missed a great show. It was a clean and well run. As I sat and watched the show, I found myself spending as much time watching olds eye as I spent watching the performers. The joy and my the magic that one could see in her eyes was worth the price of admission and the $4.00 for that very special pink circus balloon that she wanted so much. One of the highlights was when the elephants were paraded. Just think of it, The Worlds largest heard of performing elephants. At least thats what the announcer said. I watched closely with wide open eyes while the large grey beasts entered the tent. What did I see? Were my eyes playing tricks? Nope! Right there in front of god and everyone was Elephant-tame- r Jens Mickelson, Fearless-ride- r Glenn Greenhalgh and Miss Nephi Kristin Kelson riding those magnificent pachyderms as if they had been bom to the task. As the primary members of the Nephi Chamber of Commerce and Miss Nephi for 1989-9- 0 they were give the title of Circus V.I. Ps and allowed to ride in the elephant parade at each of the performances. Talk about having pull. Talk about your luck. I just sorry that I forgot my camera that night. I would like to have had a picture to prove in years to come, that each had ridden on a elephant and had not fallen off. Seriously, each did a great job and added a touch of Nephi class to the show. I do, however think they would oflooked more like circus performers if they had been issued some of those red feathers that the other elephants riders wore. If anyone has a hat with some big long red feathers still attached please deliver it to Miss Nephi, Mickelson or Fearless-rider- " Kristin Kelson, Elephant-tame- r Greenhalgh, I know they will appreciate it. . . attitude toward a mans job is vice. legal evidence that warrants or Budget blackmail may may disgusting. I felt political pressure caused him to react out of character. Commissioner Richard M. Brough confronted Sheriff Dave Carter with a concern pertaining to the performance of a specific deputy. I thought this was odd that one elected official would be concerned with the operation of another elected officials . strange, to say the least. It is clear this is the sheriffs problem, and he has been elected by due process. Carter is to see the job is done properly. He is doing a fine job, I might add. I must point out Carter ran unopposed last election, so I am not alone in this conclusion. It is important to note Brough also has been doing a very fine job on many of the issues concerning this county. I honestly felt Brough was reacting to political pressure, but to cut to the bone of this, Brough wants disciplinary action taken toward a deputy. The sheriff will not fire the man, because the state attorney generals office, the Peace OfAs I was thumbing through the exchange papers last Friday the ficer Standards and Training following caught my eye. It was carried as a ad in the Spanish Fork Board, and the county attorney Press. A quick call to the publisher confirmed that it was not recommend against this action.
