Lady Wolves defeat Lady Wasps 35-3- 1 by Lorraine Wallace The competition level was high and it was a fight to the finish as Juabs girls basketball team fell to the North Sevier Lady Wolves 5 Thursday. The stage was set early for a defensive battle, and it was early in the matchup as the first quarter buzzer saw the Lady Wasps on top North Sevier took early command in the second period with two quick buckets, however, and they never relinquished their lead. Juab stayed hot on their heels as the fourth quarter rally saw them come back from a deficit to trail by only one point, with left in the game. Juab had their chances for the win, but saw their shots bounce wide, and North Sevier connected on their last three tries from the charity strip for the final margin. Tina Sperry was high scorer for Juab with 23 points. Jodi Harward tossed in nine points, Mechelle Mellor and Heather Cowan each claimed four points, and Heidi Cowan tallied two points. Juabs girls looked for their first league win at Richfield last night. Their next action is Dec. 3 at Delta.
