Show 'Build child's Mebeker tells PTA group y Juab self-ima- ge School District Psychologist Gerald Nebeker spoke to members of the Nephi Elementary School PTA at Back to School Night, held recently. book Increasing Your Nebeker told those assembled that they should help their children build Nebeker said there were nine principle points in building a : childs Give a child a of feeling importance; en-- 2 Courage a child to do things for 'himself rather than to rely on 'others; teach a child to value and serve others; teach a child to give and receive love; treat a child with courtesy and consideration; care enough to discipline your child; encourage a child to trust his own ideas and make his own decisions; take time for training your child; and spend quality time with your child. The talk was taken from the secretary; Jeanette Powell, legislative commissioner; Alice Ricks, family and education commissioner; Renee Truscott, Childs individual development by Dr. James Har- Self-estee- elect; Vemice Winn, teacher vice president; Susan Davis, ris. The members of the PTA board were also announced. They are Debbie Wilson, president; Donna Nielsen, president com- missioner; Alice Franks, health commissioner; Darla Hall, safe- ty commissioner; Rosalee Wilkey, service commissioner; and Ralph Boswell, school The PTAs goal is to get everyone involved in the PTA, and get the organization going well in the area, officers say. The PTA would also like to increase its membership by at least 10 percent. The 3 Nephi Dental Clinic now has its own laboratory. The laboratory is in the basement of the dental clinic and will provide crown and bridge services. The laboratory technician is Stan Schmutz. Both Stan and Bobi were born and spent their early childhood in southern Utah, Stan in St. George and Bobi in Junction. Stan fulfilled an LDS mission to Texas in 1968. They both were attending BYU when they were married. While there the first two children were born, Stan III and Richard. In 1976 Stan received a B.S. degree in family counseling.
