Here's what said!!!!!!!! -- 6 WE HONOR ALL COMPETITORS COUPONS! the Times-New. s Nephi, Utah June 21, 1984 To the Editor: Last week I wrote a letter concerning gun control. Certain parts of that letter were printed somewhat differently than what I had written and the way those parts were printed would people to believe that was a celebration of gun control. I want to clarify that lead D-D- here today. What I said was that we June recently celebrated 6, 1944 as the final thrust of the forces to stop Adolph y free-worl- d Hitlers attempt at world con- quest. I said that Hitler used gun registration as a means to find out those citizens of Germany (not France) who owned firearms. After he lied them into registering their firearms, he sent his S.S. troops around to confiscate those weapons so the German eople had no means of trying to overthrow his dictatorship. This is the only time of which I am aware that gun control did anyone any good. ; Some might say gun control has worked in England. Well, did gun control stop the Libyan terrorists from getting weapons into their embassy in London, and did it stop them from killing the woman police officer? ; The wrong hands will always be able to secure weapons from one source or another. We do not need laws taking away the citizens to right for own firearms for sporting purposes ot for their own protection, whether they be rifles, law-abidin- g shotguns, or handguns. There are factions and organizations in this country that are working very hard to get gun control laws implemented on a national scale. We have to work to see that those laws or any that would take away or lessen our freedoms as guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are never allowed to pass. t I hope this clarifies my stateand gun conment on trol.
